Cover Survey

It is a fast and non-destructive method to find out location and size of steel reinforcement as well as concrete cover in a concrete structure. The principle behind the test is to utilize an electromagnetic field generated from cover meter to detect signals reflected from the object examined. The data help engineer or architect not only to know the structural information, but also formulate an effective plan for a renovation.

General Test Procedures

1. Define a test area of a building.

2. Scan test area carefully by the covermeter.

3. Record and mark location and cover to the reinforcement.
